B.J. Talley
B.J. Talley has spent the bulk of his two-decade public relations career communicating on behalf of large international organizations in technology and aerospace and government. In fact, during the 2009 pirate hijacking of the Maersk Alabama cargo ship off the coast of Somalia, it was B.J. who led the Maersk’s crisis communications efforts.
Most recently, B.J. was Head of Global Communications for TE Connectivity, a $14 billion industrial technology company, where he was responsible for international employee communications, corporate communications, media relations, executive speechwriting, change management, and crisis communications. He served as Director of Corporate Communications for Exelis (formerly ITT Defense), a leading publicly traded aerospace company acquired by Harris Corporation in 2015. Prior to that, B.J. served as General Manager of Marketing and Communications for a U.S. subsidiary of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group. He also was strategic communications consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton, and served as a civilian public affairs officer with the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command.
He earned a B.A. in history and communications from the University of North Carolina and an M.A. in Communications from George Mason University.
